Donny
Owner/ Lead tech
Owner and lead tech at REAL Automotive & Performance. Donny attended automotive school at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. He worked at a GM dealer and received his ASE Master Tech certification at 23 years old. He continued working there for 8 years as lead tech. Leaving Alaska in 2007, he moved on from GM and has worked at several independent European and Asian shops as shop foreman and opened Real Performance in 2018. Donny’s goal has always been to open an affordable shop with the highest level of automotive experience. “..taking your car into a dealership or another shop is always a gamble. You can sometimes end up with a good tech working on your vehicle but most of the time it’s a mid level or newer, younger tech who lacks the experience”..
Outside of Real Performance, Donny enjoys building and racing cars, riding dirt bikes and racing Supermoto.
Rayne
Operations Manager
After growing up in Florida and living in New York City, Rayne moved to Colorado Springs in 2018 with her partner to start a family. She spent 12 years with Apple managing their product repair strategy and later ran customer support operations for a tech start up in San Fransisco. She joined Real Performance in 2023 as our Operations Manager. With a strong passion for people and process, Rayne helps keep our shop on track and our customers satisfied.
In her free time she enjoys hiking, concerts, Marvel movies, tennis and indoor rock climbing.
Liam
Technician
After graduating high school, Liam landed a position at a large fabrication shop. There he learned a multitude of skills in fabrication and equipment operation. After multiple years on the job, he decided to take his knowledge and experience and apply it to his passion. After attending Pikes Peak automotive college Liam began a career as an automotive apprentice at Real Performance. Over the years he has gained a great deal of experience repairing a wide variety of European vehicles and owns several himself. In his spare time he is usually fiddling with personal vehicles or enjoying time with family and friends.
Kevin
Technician
Kevin (who often goes by Stretch with friends) was born in Upstate NY and spent most of his early years on the east coast. After high school he joined the Marine Corps and deployed to Air Ramadi, Iraq in 2006. He graduated with honors and a 4.0 GPA from Intellitec shortly after and began his automotive career in independent shops in Colorado Springs. He has enjoyed the challenges of fixing European cars that other shops have give up on and has loved it for the last 15 years. When he isn't at the shop, Kevin enjoys riding his motorcycles and modifying his cars with his kids.
Han
Technician
Han was born in South Korea. He attended college in California and graduated with his degree in electronics engineering. He went on to work as an engineer with Nismo, Nissan Motorsports International. In 2004, he opened his own repair shop where they were originally focused on Nissan performance. He grew the business into a very well known, highly skilled Asian and European repair shop. As Tesla and EV repairs became more popular, he eventually added that to their skillset. Looking to leave California and move to the mountains, Han sold his business and moved to Colorado Springs in 2023.
Han and his wife love Colorado and he enjoys mountain biking, kayaking and exploring the state.
